2024 review

The past year has been an exciting year with new athletes and new goals. I’ve putting more energy into my coaching business again and have a new partner – Klemming Fysio and Prehab – so I can offer customers better service.

I have new highly motivated group training hard with big goals for 2025. If you are looking for a group to train with let me know as we hope to add a few members to this group. You get weekly programs, feedback discounted testing and group training several times a week including some group swim sessions with feedback on technique. My group has a made big gains on their swim with only 2 workouts per week and the swim training has increased their conditioning and enhanced their running with less need to increase run volume. It’s all a matter of time restraints with full time work, family and other obligations so a well balanced program that fits in your life is key.

I am hoping to start up more of a beginner group for those a little intimadated to train with my current group. Programs would be only 5-8 hrs per week and will help you put some structure into your training and in a group setting. My current group only trains 8-10 hours per week with one exception so you will be surprised the fitness level you can achieve. Consistency and balance are the key. I also got into this new Hyrox thing this year. I had seen a lot of elite triathletes testing this out as off-season training and some of them going full blast into it and putting their triathlon career on hold. The competitions are really tough but fun – there is so much energy in those halls. My plan was to train specifically for one event during the fall off-season but that has now turned into 3 events and will continue through the winter. I continue with little bit of easy swimming to keep the feel in the water and it helps to keep my body loose and works good as a cool down after hard hyrox sessions. I like the feeling of doing my gym with specific targets and the body feels much more robust and strong. How that will convert to triathlon races only time will tell. There is lots of motivation to test this sport out as they have singles, doubles and relay events and age category prizes and qualification to Hyrox world championships so now it could be that my triathlon season will be my off season as I can develop a lot in this new sport whereas in triathlon I just try get less slow each year.
