Hyrox World Ranking System!

HYROX is growing fast — and with it, so is the level of competition.

Many athletes and coaches have been talking for a while about having a season-long points system, similar to what other endurance sports use.

So I built one.

This independent ranking system isn’t meant to replace HYROX’s structure — the current qualification system works well for age groups and recreational athletes.

But for the Pro field, where course differences and field strength can vary, a points-based ranking gives a clearer picture of performance across the season.

This is Version 1 of a community-driven HYROX Pro ranking.

Feedback is welcome.

This is just the beginning.

HYROX has transformed into one of the fastest-growing global endurance sports. With larger events, deeper fields, and international participation, the Pro divisions are becoming extremely competitive. As the sport evolves, so does the need for tools that help athletes, coaches, and fans understand performance in a more complete way.

The current HYROX qualification system is simple and effective for recreational athletes and age groups. However, among Pro athletes, there has been a recurring discussion about how differences in course design, field strength, and venue characteristics can make time-based qualification unpredictable. A 58-minute race in one city can represent a very different level of performance compared to a 58-minute race somewhere else.

This is not a criticism of HYROX — it’s a natural growing pain of a sport expanding rapidly across dozens of venues worldwide. Many established sports (triathlon, cycling, cross-country skiing, OCR) use a season-long points system to account for these variations and create a more complete picture of athlete performance over time.

Inspired by those models — and by conversations with several athletes — I’ve created an independent HYROX Pro Ranking System.

It’s built to:

  • reward consistent high performance
  • highlight depth and competitiveness across events
  • give fans a clearer narrative throughout the season
  • and give athletes another way to track their development

It’s not meant to replace HYROX’s official qualification criteria.

Instead, it fills a gap: a season-long, points-based ranking that reflects performance across all major races.

This is Version 1 of the system.

Quality-of-field adjustments (QFF) will be added in future iterations as well as well as some tweaking of point allocation per place.

Feedback is not only welcome — it’s essential.

This ranking will evolve with input from the athletes and the community.

Let’s see where this goes. Click here to see the current version and some of the metrics!
